Students:

Digital Story presentation schedules will be sent to your HCT Webmail accounts. Come on your date (everyone should be in the room at the beginning of class) to present and take notes of the other presentations. If you can’t make the date you agreed to then switch with someone else – the dates are fully booked! 

Your Final Blog Portfolios (#6) are due on the date of your presentation with:

1.    1.Story script (in Word form)

2.    2. Storyboard screen shot (from your Movie Maker OR I Movie site)

3.    3. Your complete Digital Story – uploaded as a video OR link.

No video upload = minus 50% off your digital grade

  

4.    4. Notes done in class as an audience member – I have the form  - hand in that day!

I’ll use the final class period to answer questions, and check scripts and storyboards. See you then.

 Choose a topic and confirm with me. To be uploaded to your blogs and presented  Between 24^th April – 4^th May.  (+4^th May = 60% marks)..

The goal of the Digital Story task is for you to:

^{1. Conduct research about your topic to validate and support your views}

^{2. Integrate as many communication and language skills as you have learnt throughout the course.}

^{3. Use the internet, media and technology to compose a digital video.}

^{4. Produce a creative and personal perspective of the issue with a critical analysis of the subject matter.}

 

You are required to …

1. In this individual and final project, you will be asked to consider a current issue (social, health, political, economic, cultural, local, global etc.) that concerns you most.

2. You need to define and discuss the problem at hand and suggest possible ways to solve it by creating your own digital story. Here are some ways you could analyze it:

a) compare and contrast

b) cause and effect

c) advantages and disadvantages

d) past, present and future

e) true story

3. The digital story will be your platform to voice your opinion with facts, figures, images and personal accounts. This should be about 4-5 minutes long.

4. You must include a works cited page at the end of your video (bibliography).  

5. Check the rubrics posted on Bb Learn to make sure you are completing exactly what is asked of you for this task.

No matter how many thousands of questions an interviewer could theoretically ask you, they all boil down to just five (5):

1. Why are you here?
   What is it about this place that attracted you? What do you know about us?
   
   
2. What can you do for us?
   What do you have to contribute to what we do? What do you know and can do?
   
   
3. What distinguishes you from 49 other people who can do this same job? Different, How?

4. Will you fit in to our work environment?
   Will you get along with, or irritate, all my other employees? Are you a team-player?
   
   
5. Can I afford you?
   
   
   Never do salary negotiation until – the second, or third interview – they have definitely said they want you. Always let the employer name a figure first.  
   
   
   
   Make sure you upload your CV + Job Ad and description (why you are interested) + J&J + 25 Questions on your blogs by Sunday 20th March.. Worth 5% of your marks..
